Ditto, and ditto. What, you sing songs about passing beer around kids in infant school(or at least, that's when we sang Ten Green Bottles)? Mrs Smith would have an aneurism.
(Tangent: she had three front teeth, and for that reason I was always vaguely scared of her. Aren't children silly?)
"Ten in the bed and the little one said Roll over! Roll over! So they all rolled over and one fell out Splat on the floor and his guts came out. Pleeeeeease remember To tie a knot in your pyjamas Single beds are only made for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine in a bed and the little one said..."
1. No, they didn't teach it to us, but you'd sing it on field trips if you were bored. 2. This is the song? I had to look it up 3. Wow, you sing that differently. We just go "there were # in the bed, and the little one said "roll over, roll over!" so they all rolled over and ONE fell out, there were # in the bed..." Until the last one. Good night!
1. Well, we were taught it, and then sang it at every damn opportunity over the next few years. 2. Yes, that's it. 3. Yeah, I know, it's more fun our way- and longer *grins*
1) Yeah, we learnt it at school too. At my infant school, on wet lunchtimes, we had to go into one of the mobiles and sing songs like that and play Simon Says and such.
2) There is no 2)
3) We had a slightly different version. Less gruesome. "So they all rolled over and one fell out, he gave a little scream and he gave a little shout, pleeeeease remember blablabla"
In reference to number 3, thank you!! Since I read the previous comment I'd been wracking (or racking, or.. whatever) my brain to figure out that line!!
