Getting excited about the start of school
Aug. 13th, 2017 11:55 amHave to inveigle Ana to get new clothes for herself (no, Ana, two pairs of pants and a shirt of your mom's is NOT sufficient for school, thank you) and roughly plan some lessons but - oh, I am so excited! This feeling will fade, better make the most of it while I can.

Date: 2017-08-14 06:22 am (UTC)Okay, I have firsthand experience of how hard life is when you can't use one hand due to severe hand/wrist pain - *so many* activities of daily living require two hands, (even lifting your breast up with one hand so you can put antibiotic cream on a wound on the underneath of your breast with the other hand!)
and I have to say, as much as I would hate to be known as a Nazi (and that would be *****A LOT*****), I would pick almost anything over losing one hand.
Using a power wheelchair is hard enough with two hands, it would be EVEN HARDER with one hand. (You need one hand for the joystick, and another to open the door.)
I don't think it's a fair question.
For starters, the more experience someone has with chronic pain/chronic illness/disability, the more likely they are to realise the full repercussions on all the activities of daily living of losing a hand, and therefore pick the other option.
