But I can't believe it took me this long to realize there's a deliberate parallel going on between Lena and Kara. (And was she seriously adopted because her name alliterates? Three minutes in to this ep and I suspect that might actually be the case.)

I do miss Maxwell Lord, but I suppose this show doesn't need two fabulously wealthy, morally gray technocrats.

1. Hey, it's entirely possible that Mon-El *is* bi or pansexual, so everybody can slash out! Because it's canon. (And poly, too. Which ought to open up a whole new world of possibilities for Kara, but five bucks says she doesn't realize this and he doesn't see why this is a problem.)

2. Soooooo not comfortable with the fact that the only good Luthor is the one who is adopted. And her mother ought to be more gray, but she practically cackles every time she's on screen, because there's apparently no room for subtlety in this analogy. Which, okay, I'm about as pro-immigration as it gets... but even if I support their politics, it doesn't make for the most interesting story.

3. Oh, right, more parallels, Lena's adopted family is evil, Kara's birth family had their little moments, extremist mom, extremist aunt. Really, I don't know why it takes me so long to catch on to fiction, but I sure enjoy it anyway!

4. Lena, Kara, please. Get actual therapists. I mean, friends are great, but you have bigger issues.

5. Oh, she's not adopted-adopted, she's the result of infidelity. Well, that explains a lot. Including the name. Though did he marry his wife for that? What was Lena's birth mother's name?

6. Crane disasters are scarily frequent. This is truth in fiction.

7. Made her call the Dean of Yale? LOL.

8. It's good to see they can manage the love triangle (more or less) without either side getting bitchy with the other.

9. Exactly what sort of lousy security does this jail have if you can enter with a full face mask!?

10. Wow, are they actually wrapping this up this episode, no more stupid misunderstandings? All right, Supergirl! No pointless angsting over a guy! Talking openly, it's the wave of the future!

11. Oh, wait, nevermind. Boo.

12. So a couple of weeks ago we had a "we thought she did a prison break but she's a victim" plot, and last week we had a "omg it's gonna blow!" plot. Can we get a new plot? Once per season is enough for those.

13. Wait, now we're back to honesty? YAY!

14. So next week is going to be goofy filler? Great. How sarcastic that "great" is depends on how much I enjoy goofy filler.

15. Oh - is Lena into Kara? Like, I'm not making that up, am I? If so, then Kara really has to get over herself and her "I don't believe anybody likes me, tee hee" attitude.
