It's been randomly setting itself to new dates (today it was in December. I can't blame it for wanting to be cooler, but this is not the way), the clock part of my taskbar stops working (the clock is still ticking, but it doesn't change the number on my taskbar) and today it refused to let me log into ANY site until I deleted all my cookies and tried again. Any ideas as to what's wrong? I don't think it's a virus, or anything like that, because I haven't gone to any sites I don't usually go to. Since virtually all those sites are big, popular ones like CNN, I think that I'd have heard something by now about a virus infecting people who visit CNN.

It depends on the type of battery. Some computers have "button"-type batteries on the motherboard, and if you can see it then you can take it out and replace it. Some have them inside chips, in which case there's nothing you can do and you have to take it to a repair person.
