What I don't understand is why. It's not sweet. It's not even clever. It's stupid. The best way to slow down a car (or motorcycle) is NOT to "hit the brakes" but to let up on the gas. That's what they say for ice storms too, that when you start to skid, you don't hit the brakes and go out of control, you move your foot from the gas pedal and wait for the car to slow down.

Thanks. I had no idea any motorcycles had foot brakes. Not that it matters, the idea of "don't slam on the brakes" still holds true.
