Midterm results are in. I got a 98 on my classics midterm (which makes up for the B I got on that paper... *grumbles*) and, somehow, only an 88 on Core 5. I think she must have misread some of my answers, so I'm going to go over this test with a magnifying glass this weekend.

In other school-related news, we're done with the Iliad, done with Thucydides (whom I liked, and will read more of in my own time), done with Antigone, and done with the Bacchae. Remember the first (the real) Fantasia? They had this one piece, set to Beethoven's 6th (his Eroica symphony, originally dedicated to Napoleon, you can hear it say "napoleon, napo-leon" when it starts. After you take music history FOUR TIMES, you don't forget this stuff, and let me tell you, that class doesn't get harder just because you take it more often) which was set in some sort of roman/greek place/era? Yeah, they had the centaurs, and the flying horses (pegasi, but actually there was only ever one pegasus....), and, at one point, they have a drunk and his drunk horse? That drunk was Bacchus, aka Dionysus (which is just our name Dennis, did you know that?) Humorous character, that Bacchus was. BORE NO RELATION TO THE CHARACTER IN THIS PLAY. *shudders* He tricks his own cousin into getting torn apart, he tricks his aunt into tearing his cousin apart, for no other reason than that they doubted his divinity, and it wasn't their fault they did that, wouldn't you doubt that your sister got impregnated by a god? I mean, I know this is ancient Greece, and there's a lot of that going around, but it's STILL an unlikely tale.

Um. Sorry for the tangents in that. Will try better.
