And this is a Proper Name, so it's perfectly reasonable for me to make corrections.
There is no period in the name Harry S Truman. Really. The S doesn't stand for anything, it isn't an abbreviation, his middle name really is just plain old S. So, when writing his name, do NOT put a dot after the S because his middle name is really. just. S.

Date: 2004-06-22 10:36 am (UTC)I would say that that one is a more forgivable mistake than many others, though. It is more common to use a middle initial that is an abreviation of a name than it is for the middle initial to be your middle name, I'm sure.
