If that fails, we rent a trap. The very concept horrified Ana, but I pointed out that a humane trap is very safe and won't harm the mama or her kittens. I wouldn't risk if it that weren't the case.
The truth is, I happen to like going to the ASPCA van. It's tedious, yet also fun.
