Apparently, there is a discount for some customers on Kindles.

Only $19 for a Kindle, or $44 for a Paperwhite. I do not qualify, which is a pity because Ana has been clamoring for one for her birthday, and for that matter so has Evangeline. (Who doesn't want to wait until her own birthday, either.) If anybody is eligible who doesn't want, I would gladly pay you back pretty much immediately (well, on the first of the month) for the cost of two regular kindles.

Apparently, people who are eligible got an email about it, but if you didn't you might still be eligible if you see a banner regarding this on the homepage. No idea how eligibility is determined, nobody seems to be clear on that.
