Sometimes, you can't win for losing.
Nov. 27th, 2013 07:06 pmLast night, around 1am, Eva threw up. Her mother wasn't home yet, so she got out of bed, washed up, changed her clothes, rinsed her mouth, and decided to come upstairs and fetch me. After determining that Jenn wasn't going to be home for another half an hour I went downstairs. I was utterly useless, of course, and never really woke up, but that's fine because the children are being raised to be self-sufficient and apparently it's working. Before she got into bed to snuggle with me Eva even remembered to bring a trash can to throw up into, and believe me, I would not have remembered that at that hour of night!
This morning, we needed to pay the cable bill, and I got tasked to do that. I thought we had about $200 more in the account than we did, so I blithefully paid up.
This afternoon, I went to clean the litterbox, and the very second it was clean, as I was about to start scooping new litter in, the cat decided she urgently needed to pee. *sigh* Less than three minutes has GOT to be a new record. At least I was able to dump the pee back out into the toilet. It's silly, but a clean box, newly soaped up and all, is an accomplishment.
Then I went to the store and found out that we only had $10 left in the account, because of the bill. We won't starve, but god, I hate having to put things back when I get to the checkout, especially when it's everything.
Sometimes, you just can't win.
