I'm sure this is going to go over well with the general public. As one commenter said, "Monocultures where disease can spread unchecked; poor soil health where pathogens can breed unchecked; the response "let's make a plan" after the disease is detected rather than before; and then the retreat to yet another technological fix rather than improving the farm practices. These sort of disease events are caused by poor farming practices. If the ecology of the farm is out of balance you get disease. The answer is to fix that ecology. But that takes real farming rather than industrial farming."
