But when we worked that out we went back and watched the episode we were actually on, The 37s, which is the one where Voyager encounters a random human colony descended from 300 enslaved abductees who were brought to this random Delta quadrant planet to work... until they overthrew their enslavers and killed them all. The fact that nobody from the alien society ever followed up on this for the past 400 years makes this all sound like a bit of highly unsanctioned slavery, but that still doesn't explain why they went all the way to Earth to get, idk, miners or whatever. Surely there were Delta-quadrant species they could've abducted people from? But if they'd done that then Voyager would have never had a chance to meet Amelia Earhart, who had been in stasis this whole time.

Also: They explain that the abductees can understand each other and Voyager, despite being from different countries, due to the Universal Translator. But then they leave and the abductees all decide to stay on this planet... will they all have to learn whatever creole those people speak now that the UT has gone away with the ship? Did they really think this through?

in the hopes that it'll be a bit easier for Finn to manage, and Moonpie too as she gets older. The vet suggested that definitely part of the reason he doesn't always eat is that he may not remember to until the food is literally right in front of his nose - I've noticed this myself, he's vague on the subject until he's had time to smell that food for a minute, then he falls on it like the proverbial army of ravens - but another part may be that it's painful for him to put his head all the way down into his bowl. The previous set was also elevated, but this is *more* elevated and, again, tilted.

I couldn't get the bowl to tilt, though. E had to do it for me. She rolled her eyes and said it's not like she performed witchery and magic, but as far as I know she did. A, for their part, has been cleaning the upstairs all day. They moved the oven out of the dining room and into the kitchen, which will certainly be more convenient. I was in and out of that kitchen for a good quarter hour before I noticed, and then I wasn't sure if they'd managed to sneak it in behind my back.

Every once in a while somebody in my family will say something like "How could you miss that?" or "It's right there, you walked right by it!" and it's good to keep a catalogue of all these other times when they don't say it so I can say either "You've known me my whole life" or "You've known me your whole life", depending, to explain why I didn't see, say, that very last garbage bag to take out.
