As for what I'm listening to while waiting to swap out the laundry

the answer is "the last episode of Season 1 of Camlann", which we can sum up as "I'd get a lot more out of this show if I knew more about Arthuriana and Welsh mythology. The background music's really nice, though." As proof of the first statement, I knew about the death of Arthur, but it's only just now that I looked it up and realized what the title is referencing. Also, while there are probably at least a dozen men named Arthur running around the British Isles at any given time, even in the post-apocalypse, the one they've got is a rich asshole, so fuck him, he can die.

The show takes place in the aftermath of an apocalypse I think nobody had on their bingo card, where all the stories come back. Your best chance of surviving is having a name marking you as a protagonist or essential secondary character, and since these stories are all region-locked it won't do you much good to be a Hector in Wales or an Arthur in Ithaca. This even applies to the dogs, it seems, so it's a good thing their furry friend was named Gelert (something I had already looked up a long time ago because of Neopets.)

The season ends on a conflictedly hopeful note, and yes, there are transcripts.

What I've been listening to while gardening and cooking:

1. Who knew that with a few tweaks you really could turn Hamlet into a fake-dating romantic comedy?
2. The music industry under the sea is wild.
3. Nobody told me this was only three episodes! (On purpose, they didn't lose steam.)
4. Parasites are really creepy, even if they don't induce involuntary cannibalism.
5. I wonder if the writers know that you can make jokes that aren't based on sex and other bodily functions.
6. Why are these people obsessed with their original mission? Haven't they figured out that things have gone very badly wrong and there's no chance of getting back on track? The planet they were supposed to begin terraforming is already fully terraformed and the stars aren't where they used to be, so... I mean....
7. I get that autopsying a neighbor who was probably murdered after having gone missing like your grandma is traumatic, but if this episode is just nonstop sobbing I think I'll have to skip it for good. I should look and see if there are transcripts.
