But I know what the problem is - I had thought the patch I chose was less ragweed infested, hoo-boy I was wrong. There is no way we got enough of the root structure out before we put the bushes in. I'll do a big push, clear it all out, and order larger plants to try again. And this time I'll add some nice compost to the soil before I put them in, mulch them after, that should help.

There's some vine on the back fence that I don't know if we want or not. I need to take a picture so I can figure out what it is.

Twice now various neighbors have trimmed my ivy and then proudly told me they cut down my "poison ivy". Guys, it's not poison ivy. It's just ivy ivy. Do... do all my neighbors not know what ivy looks like? Apparently not!

I forgot to pick up the raspberry, I'll do it first thing tomorrow.

Somebody finally finished the corn from the squirrel feeder, but given the presence of turkey poop I think it may have been a turkey and who wants that?

and have cleared the tiniest of tiny spots. Mostly cleared, that is - I was working hard to avoid digging up a thriving pokeweed. I know it's a weed, and honestly, if we were using the ramp as a ramp it'd have to come out, but... well, I've always liked the berries in fall, that's all. Probably the birds do too.

I may try vinegar on the roots under the ramp, see if that kills them. It has an advantage over commercial herbicides in that I already have high-strength vinegar in the house. We use it when we forget to get the laundry out of the washing machine, and if you think this is a rare occurrence you must not know any of us very well.

Every single root was covering another ten or more underneath it, and that is not an exaggeration. It's satisfying to get this crap up, but it'd be more satisfying if I could be sure I was done!
