My mother hasn't paid the water bill in a good long time

About a decade or so, I should think. Last time it came around she just threw a bunch of money at it to go away, and apparently "a bunch of money" turns out to have been about 10k. Smartest decision she has ever made, but now our balance is almost run out and we'll have to start paying it again.

And I thought it could never be done.

But something has jumped to the top of my "most loathed conservative buzzwords" list above "personal responsibility*". It's "social engineering", which seems to mean... well, I'm not sure what they all think it means, actually, but they sure seem obsessed with the concept.

* It's not that I'm opposed to personal responsibility, per se. I just don't like the way certain parties use the term.
