Got a letter from the IRS.
Feb. 9th, 2016 06:10 pmI think our mailman must have gotten lost or something, because I'm pretty sure this should have been in a week ago. Whatevs.
This letter helpfully informs us that it is NOT A TAX BILL. No, it's simply a statement of the taxable interest paid to the recipient by the IRS last year. This interest should be reported as income.
Yup, the IRS paid Jenn $135 last year and now they want her to pay taxes on that. Well, of course they do.
