Been watching Voyager every time I have to fold clothes

And I start to realize that although "strictly interpreted Vulcan" is not, perhaps, the world's most demanding role (and they never did much with Tuvok anyway), Tim Russ manages to make the most of it. It's a pity the character was so underutilized, because I'm sure he would've acted the hell out of it if given a real fighting chance.

The show is now down one Kes and up one Seven. This may be a minority opinion, I don't know, but I've always kinda hated Kes. She's like Deanna, but even more understanding and awesome, and with freaky mind powers and the good sense not to intone "I sense great anger" every time people are frothing at the mouth. Drives me batty. I feel like she's so perfect and nice that you can't even hate her properly!

Hey, is it just me or has the news this summer been particularly shitty?

If it's not war in Ukraine it's wars, plural, in the Middle East. If it's not ebola in Africa then it's police brutality in the US. You turn away from one article on global warming to find that our elected officials are really, really stupid (or fascist, or annoying, or evil - take your pick of adjective).

It's just been a lousy summer all around. (No articles about lice, but there are bedbugs in the trains, guys.)

I'm hoping things shape up in September. It might be more boring if it does, but I think I can handle it.
