And I go "Ooh, waffles, I haven't had a waffle like this since the last time I was in Belgium" which was, for reference, before my father died. (Point of fact, I'm certain I didn't mostly munch on Liege waffles there either, I had a third type of waffle, but I can't find a recipe for those.)
So I shelled out the absurdly high price, bit in and...

Not what I wanted at all. Sure, they smelled right, but they were too dry, too stale, too... NOT RIGHT.
So I decided to make some of my very own. This is the recipe I used. I'll bite into mine in ONE second, just hold on.
(And let me note that if this works I must find a cheaper source of pearl sugar. The whole $12 went into this batch!)
