I can live with that. It's the attitude that she had to "correct" the book before she could "allow" her child to read it. It wasn't enough to say "Yes, Johnny, some people talk like that, but we don't" or "Yes, some people talk like that, but you'll be judged poorly if you do" or even "Yes, some ignorant people talk like that, but we know better". No, the kid couldn't even be exposed to this, like cursing, or murder.
And that really pisses me off. I mean, in my house, half the books have neat little pencil marks in them for every little typo or comma error - but they're out-of-the-way, and that's only because my mother is like that, and when I was a kid I put some of them in there myself!
