We didn't go out today.

And it was the scarf dance at the SICM, too!

But there's something going around - Ana's friend Frankie was sick this week, and Deniz was sick yesterday, and today Ana was cranky, irritable, a little warm, and saying "I feel sick" most of the day. Plus, she fell asleep as I was braiding her hair, which was so strange that I just let her sleep, and by the time she woke up it would've been rush rush rush to get to and enjoy the museum anyway.

You know what's a surreal experience?

Sitting with a pair of kids, three years and a little younger, and listening to them have a conversation, all by themselves, with no adult interactions whatsoever.

It's... weird. I still think of these kids, most of whom I've been seeing for months now, as babies, barely talking - and here they are chattering away at each other! Having real, adult-like conversations!

It doesn't sound like much, but I'm still not used to it. It's been months now, but I'm still not used to it.

Edit: In other news, the baby, when she saw Jenn putting on the sling to take her on a "shortwalk" around the block, crawled enthusiastically on over, plopped herself down in front of her mom, and lifted up her arms expectantly. Of course, when *I* tried putting her in the sling to put her to sleep more easily today, she cried and fussed because she saw right through my plan (or maybe just because she was sleepy). Smart kid either way :)
