She's got friends. She's organized kids in one of her playgroup things into a circle to dance during a song (which turned tragic after one of her friends was accidentally excluded from the circle and refused to be consoled with another circle because she "wanted to be next to Ana" who was, of course, merrily oblivious as she jumped up and down). She's huggy and chatty and friendly....
With people she knows, in situations she's comfortable with. If it's a new situation, if it's somebody she doesn't know... if both of these things... not so much. In fact, she's outright shy. Even as she's carefully stalking another kid to be near them, she's refusing to talk to them or to interact with them by doing any more than simple nods of the head.
I always forget that part of her, since I mostly take her to places where she knows everything and everyone. Hee.
While I'm talking about her... is it typical for a three year old to still be putting non-food things in their mouths all the time? Not to swallow, just to have them in her mouth...? I mean, I do that (the poor antenna on my cell phone is all nibbled on), but... I thought most kids outgrew this by three, which is why toys with small parts aren't choking hazards for them.
