Has LiveJournal changed the way it deals with too-long entries, and nobody told me? Because I delete my bookmarks as I post them, and now I can't recover all the links I put in my entry which, um, aren't there....

It seems that if I type too much, it lets me keep typing, then just edits out the extraneous text in the entry. And when I go to edit the entry, the text isn't there either (of course), so I can't recover it. Now, I know I used to just get a warning, and the text would be all there. I do believe I'll go complain. When I stop being lazy.

I'm thinking I'll make gingerbread this year - send some to people who pass me their addresses, make a gingerbread house...

Hm. Wait. What do I need for a gingerbread house? I need the basic gingerbread ingredients, right? And frosting, white. And possible frosting in other colors, yes? And gumdrops and peppermint sticks and such... this is starting to add up!

But I *will* at least try this this year, now that I've discovered that gingerbread doesn't *have* to taste stale and nasty.

Okay. Jenn and I are planning on cookie-making Monday, which really means more like Wednesday or Thursday. If you want cookies, you need to address-post by then (link down in previous entry), or you probably won't get any.

In addition to gingerbread, I may go crazy and make shortbread or fudge or something else. Don't get your hopes up, though. Or sugar cookies - those are festive, with sprinkles, right? Mmm. Maybe peppermint cookies...

Um. Yeah. Don't get your hopes up for any of the above.

Apparently, this school is putting on a holiday play. They used familiar tunes with new words, in a tradition as old as using "Greensleeves" to sing about the birth of Christ, if not older.

One of those tunes was Silent Night.

Oh dear.

They really should've realized that this would arouse the wrath of many who live nowhere near their district! Using those "smutty, really insulting" lyrics (see, now I wanna see them) instead of the song.

Mind, I have always personally been annoyed at those who re-use old tunes for new purposes in teaching kids. I don't *like* that there's people who don't realize that "This Old Man" is the real song, not "I Love You". But I don't think this is somehow smutty or indecent....
