( Cut for length, hatred, and religion )
*sigh*
You! All youse non-evil Christians? You need to start being louder than the idiots. For frak's sake, you're the majority of Christians, aren't you? (Please say you are!) Start acting like it and metaphorically, following Christ's teachings, smack the shit out of these idiots who pretend to use your principles to sell their hate and general evilness. Don't let them speak for you anymore, okay? It's getting beyond annoying.
Oh, and evil Christians? If you're honestly afraid that your religious book, and your religion, based on a peace-loving Messiah is about to be classified as hate literature, maybe you'd really better accept the wake-up call and start asking which parts of that book are the important ones. Because, given that most of the Christians I know couldn't in any way be called hateful, maybe there's something wrong with *your* interpretation that you think it's a possible label to be given to you. I'm just sayin'.
Sorry it took a few days to post it,
sunnydale47 had just written commentary to an article on Cheney's endorsement of torture. Oh, and CNN had just aired a travesty of a "report" on the Meirs withdrawal, focusing entirely on her feelings and how people were oh-so-mene!!!!! Enough to make me sick. (Not that I don't care about her feelings, except I don't, and anyway, that's not really what I want from my news.)
In slightly better news, the HRC has transcripts and movies of "Tom, the Token Gay Friend". Which reminds me of the part in Geography Club (good book for that age group, for all that it's an "issues" book, I especially like that they try to tackle issues bigger than "just" discrimination against against gay people) where at one point, the black girl who ignorantly tried to join the club realizes why they're trying to push her out (it's not race!), and after they say "fine, fine, we like you" goes "Damn, I guess I'm your token straight!" Which made me laugh. I have a simple sense of humor sometimes.
