My mom wasn't expecting it would cost more than $40....

*scratches foot*

If I figure out which one I need, could somebody buy it off of Ebay for me, I'll pay you back? Or lend me $30?

Edit: Nevermind. I told 'dul that if he lent me the remainder of the money, I wouldn't monopolize the one remaining computer, so he could go online. I mean, I'll monopolize *my* computer, but as we'll have two....

Edit again: Oh dear. From what I can tell, all these adapters are computer-specific. How diabolic. Just bringing in the old, broken one will be good enough to have a store clerk figure out the best replacement, right? If not, I have to sit and figure out exactly what sort of computer I have, again. All I can remember off the top of my head is that it's blue, it's from Dell, and it runs Windows. Because I didn't buy it, and frankly, so long as it works, I don't care all that much, that's why. Ignorant, I know, and shameful, but there it is.

Since I'm using my mom's computer, it occured to me to check out such things as her system information. She's got tons more hard drive space (not memory, thank you moggy for the correction). That's 75 GB to my 19 GB. And here I was wondering why Adobe Acrobat didn't freeze up her computer when it loaded.... (Incidentally, thanks again Moggy for the Foxit suggestion, I haven't looked back since.)

What. The. Fuck?

I'm not talking a few measly gigs here. So, either I got massively cheated when I got my laptop (possible), computer obsolesence is faster than I could ever have conceived (also possible), or her computer is fucked up and is lying about how much space is available.

Damn. If I didn't prefer my keyboard, I might well be asking her to switch laptops with me right now. In fact, I just may do that anyway. She plays games on her laptop. I download stuff. Legally. Very legally. I have all my Latin on there - but it wouldn't be hard to switch things over. I'm going to go complain to her right now about this injustice.

Just out of curiosity, how much memory is a laptop supposed to have, anyway?

(Believe it or not, I'm not actually being as bitchy as all this. When she first got this laptop, she had offered to switch with me. I'm just now contemplating taking her up on that offer. Maybe. I *am* fond of my own laptop there *points and grunts*, but then, I was fond of our C64 as well... think that's still up in the attic, actually....)

Ahem.

Sorry for being an entitlement-bitch. That was rude of me.

Let's just say that this day has generally sucked, and leave it at that.

What can I say other than "massive fucking injustice"?

I can't even comment more intelligently than that.

In good news, Zach is getting out. Unfortunately, I suspect that's because six weeks has come and gone, not because his parents have learned a valuable lesson about love and tolerance.
