Stupid thing kept me up half the night screaming.

Well, I didn't find it. Some kids did. Heard them talking (not yelling, talking) from my window, ran to check it out. They were all the way down the block. Man, sometimes I curse my hearing.

Good thing I have it, though. If they can't keep it, they were going to put it back where they found it. And this is one sick kitten. I told them to try me or Ms. Marian if their mom (as I suspect) puts her foot down. I can certainly house a kitten for the day or so it'll take to drop it off at the vet. Um. Don't tell *my* mom I said that.

Can somebody tell me what the kid did that was so horrible? Because I'm just not seeing it. I *am* seeing some pettiness on the part of the poster, though, notably this:

IB: What type of soup is it?
M (thinking): Didn't you read the menu *on your table*?! (out loud) Sweet Potato and Cummin.
IB: Oh, that sounds good.
M (thinking): Girl, even I don't know exactly what cummin is. Who are you trying to impress?

Wow. She *didn't read the menu*! Yes, she should've, but she didn't. And because she says "oh, that sounds good", she *must* be trying to show off?

No, the kid doesn't sound like the paragon of politeness. Skipping please isn't nice. But it's also not nice to correct other people's manners in public.

So, time for me to make some replies. If you have any entries I should've replied to, or read more carefully, post the URL, amabo te!

Or, if not yet "nearing completion" are at least showing signs of what they'll look like when done. Which means we no longer have to hear about the "exciting new changes". Exciting my ass! There's not a single roller coaster, wild bear, or even ferris wheel in the place!

Now, though, the official website says this:

A bit more snide than I ought to be, but ask me if I expect anything will turn out as wonderful as predicted. Considering that what they're renovating is the MAKESHIFT that they put up after the fire (at least ten years ago), I'm not too impressed.

This COUNTRY wouldn't exist if people always followed laws they didn't agree with, but nobody seems to remember that.

I'd say that we have a moral obligation not to follow laws we strongly disagree with - though I doubt that taking pictures merits a strong opinion either way.

Can't imagine what they're doing with THREE new boats, though, seeing as how they're only retiring two. Wish they weren't retiring those after all, I like them.

And, ONCE AGAIN, I get to use the boat icon! This was made on one of the older-design boats, the ones that are getting retired.

Article about parents of aspie kids being accused of abuse

Choice quotes:

She and her husband Michael had removed their sons Ben, 15, and Sam, 10, from their schools after they fell prey to severe bullying.

This, we all know, is common with autistic/aspie kids. Common with far too many kids, really. It's the bullies who should be taken out of the schools, but you know nobody would go for that...

"He said: 'Right you are on the at risk register because your parents are abusing you emotionally and physically'," said Ben.

So, they just TELL a kid this? They don't even say "we think that" or "we have reason to believe that" first? So even if the parents are vindicated, this idea is stuck on them!

"The next words out of his mouth were: 'it concerns me you are not into sport and fashion like normal children of your age'."

*cracks up*

Because the kid is, I believe, normal for most autistics, he must be abused? God, base ignorance!

Besides, if he HAD been interested in sports and fashions, people would get upset at that, say he wasn't concentrating on important issues. And he wouldn't be. This is the first I've ever heard that people want children to be shallow.

*grumbles loudly*
