First, for those of us voting in the US Presidential election this year, here's a nifty site to help you decide whom to vote for!

http://www.isidewith.com/

Apparently I most agree with Jill Stein, with Obama coming in second. And where I disagree with her, she generally goes with my second choice option, which is definitely not the case for the incumbent.

Sadly, I'm not voting for her, I'm voting against the absolute embodiment of pure evil the Republicans put up to run. So I guess it's Obama all over again! (Even now, it's getting a bit late for her to suddenly come up from behind and win this thing.)

Secondly, my laptop is busted, and I'm using a keyboard and Jenn's iPad. The keyboard isn't sized right (don't you hate getting used to a new one?) so I may be a bit terse for a while.

I side most with Gary Johnson, followed by Ron Paul. Ron Paul didn't surprise me (neither did the answers we agreed and didn't agree on, though the Evolution thing was weird). I hadn't heard of Gary Johnson until now, but it doesn't surprise me that he scored so high, given his libertarian-republican stances (ie - small government, without the pandering to big business).

Romney scored a 31%, and they were entirely on the "small government" fronts (reform Medicare, stop intervening in other country's matters, keep the Internet deregulated, etc).

I got Jill Stein for #1 as well, and Obama #2. What really surprised me is that it told me I agreed with Stein 91%, and Obama 89%, because I never thought Obama was particularly progressive but more of a moderate. So I didn't really expect to agree with him at such a high percentage. I was expecting more like 70%.

Amusingly, I only agree with Romney 5%. And Ron Paul I agree with 53%. Heh.

Stein > Obama > Johnson within 6 points.

A terrifyingly high 36% sympathy for the Devil.

EDIT: Looking at the details for each politician it seems there are a lot of weird glitches in the evaluation:

"Do you support the Patriot act? Stewart Alexander: No, and pass strict laws prohibiting any government surveillance You: No" --was put on the "do not side" list. o_O

"Do you believe the theory of Evolution? Mitt Romney: Yes, and I believe it is a part of Creationism You: Yes" --which conflates several issues that are core to the dispute. O_o

"Is Global Warming a threat to the environment? Mitt Romney: Yes, but we should not devote government resources to prevent it Your similar answer: Yes" --was a human being ever involved in vetting these? o_o

I'm between Jill and Obama too, for the same reason, more or less. I'm going to wait till the last minute and see if my state looks like a close contest. If not, I'll vote for Jill to send a clear message.

By that test:
87% Obama
84% Stein
5% Romney

Guess I'm voting for "not Romney".

I got Jill Stein too, but as usual I'm going to be voting for 'Candidate Most Likely To Beat Evil Republican'.
Getting pretty tired of having to do that all the time.
