The word is NOT backround. It is backGround. It comes from the word "back" and the word "ground". A small amount of thought should convince you that "round" doesn't come into it at all. If you're ever inclined to say "backround", remember that the Bad Spelling Demon eats little boys and girls for dinner if they refuse to spell correctly. I won't tell you what he does to adults.

Then I realised that I had completely and utterly made up in my head the content of your post and that if I read your version, the question would be answered. Consequently, I return to my original reaction.
There are people out there who spell if backround? Seriously? And enough to warrant a complaint? I'm stunned.
