Denny's reverses restroom policy on transgender use

Back when I first read this yesterday the comments were mostly good, but the bad ones were doozies, so read at your own risk.

The most hilarious was the one saying that now some perv was SURE to follow a woman into the bathroom and what'd he see then? Aside from the fact that some perv could've done this at any time (I mean, why follow rules if you don't have to?), all they'd see is stall doors. Bit of a let-down, isn't it?

ID thief disappears after his sentencing

See what I mean? If they're disinclined to follow rules in the first place....

(Also, for some reason I find that story hilarious and kinda hope he gets away with it. Uh... gets away with it and reforms his life, that is.)

Here's just a nifty graphic on food and the world and history.

A quick piece on North Korea

One of those weird posts where people are nostalgic about NYC in the 70s and 80s. I just don't get it myself.

Oh, and two articles on soda at home.

I think a lot of people are just nostalgic about being young. The setting in which they were young just happens to be deeply entangled with the memories. And it's a lot less scary to regret that the city has changed than to think about not being a kid protected from harsh reality by loving parents. Or not being a young adult falling in love for the first time. Or just not being young and healthy and energetic anymore.
