I am so PISSED right now

conulySomebody whose reviews I follow over at Goodreads works at the main branch of the NYPL. Anyway, she put on her Amazon wishlist that she wanted a particular book, I *have* a copy of that book and was planning on giving it away anyway, so I decided to pass it off to her.
Since she's only a few blocks from my sister's job, I thought the easiest thing was to ask Jenn to drop it off on her way in to work. Easy-peasy, right? And then, because I hadn't gone to the library that week (we visited my grandmother instead) I suggested she take a few books to return at the same time.
That was last week. Friday of that week she asks if she can do it Monday. I said no, because I kinda needed these books returned before we went to the library, but she absolutely ignored that request anyway. Didn't bring the books home either so I could return them.
Monday she had yet to return them before our library trip... and it was closed by the time she got there. Tuesday she forgot to bring them back to work. Wednesday she chose not to bring them back because of the snow (and I wasn't heading out to the library in the snow either). Thursday she brought them, didn't return them. She swore she'd return them yesterday... she hasn't. AND they're at her office, so I can't up and return them myself. GOD. I would've handled all this two weeks ago if, when I'd asked her, she'd just said "No, I'm not going to do you a favor."
What the FUCK? So now we've got books on hold we can't pick up until some of these books are returned, and I can't even *get* to the books to return them!

One thing I've learned is that if I want to make sure something gets done that's within my power to do, I handle it myself, even if it's more convenient for someone else to handle it. =( I've just had too many promises fall through for things that I HAD to have done. So I definitely feel your frustration there. *HUGS*
