It's not a very good article. It doesn't distinguish very clearly between the different types of diabetes. It almost immediately mentions that this particular child lives in a "healthy" community with "no fast-food restaurants" and ignores the fact that Type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with how "healthy" a community (or an individual) is. It says that Type 1 and Type 2 have the same cause. It fear-mongers about the use of insulin that will OMG KILL YOU DEAD when death from hypoglycemia, while not unheard of, is not that common.

The article is too sensationalized for my tastes.
