Now, a note. There are some people who, upon finding out that THEY are not being persecuted (and, in fact, are in the majority and often benefit in material ways from their religious ties), will go and say "Well, YOUR group isn't either, because it's so much worse in Iran/China/Afghanistan/North Korea!!!"

That's probably true, however, it seems to me that justice isn't served by simply being better than a totalitarian state.

*GRIN* This is a great way to put it into perspective. Of course, some of the D answers probably wouldn't apply to even the devout, such as "voted into office." /pedantic

And though I'm agnostic, I HAVE been criticized via the Editorial page of my local newspaper. Or rather, I posted a letter to the Editor, and I got a couple of anonymous responses saying that they were going to "pray for my soul lest I burn in hell for my support of abominations against God." XD
