Not to put too fine a point on it, but aren't we all self proclaimed feminists? Did I miss the class and the fancy graduation? God, was there a PARTY? I didn't miss out on cake, did I?

People don't do this just about feminism, though, I've heard it for other equally silly things, like liberalism or naturalism or whatnot. Dudes. It's not a religion where you need to be baptised. It's really just a state of mind.

I kind of prefer the expression "poser" myself.

It seems like the term "self-proclaimed" is usually used as a derogatory moniker. As if the only thing dumber than feminism is someone who would consciously choose to be a feminist.

For the record, I used "self described" when talking about my pony because I followed it with "bra-burning feminist," which is an offensive stereotype to a lot of people. I am in fact aware that it's a state of mind. *wanders off*

See, that's my problem. My skin doesn't touch other skin with or without a bra. So I figure there's no point in me wearing one =D
