The time of year when people are posting wishlists! I actually have a few things I actually want, so I'll post it now.

NIECES

With Jenn being out of work, I really want a few things for them.

1. Picture books! I have that whole wishlist here, and I prefer used on the grounds that it's cheaper. Actually, any book that isn't listed here is probably a good bet - if I don't like it, I can bring it to the school. There aren't any chapter books on it because I know we have a lot of ours from childhood hanging around somewhere, but I do want to get them some chapter books - if anybody has a bunch of kid's books they're getting rid of anyway, ask me. I'll pay for shipping if you're just clearing out your library, if it's not too-too much, so if you have a sufficient quantity of old books that you no longer need as you or your kids have outgrown them this is a great way to spread the love to me for pretty close to free.

2. They could also use some navy vests, navy school pants, navy sweatshirts and sweatpants, winter boots, and new sneakers. They're size 4 and size 6 in clothes (though we can get one size larger if necessary) and size 10 1/2 and size 11 1/2 in shoes and boots (we can go a half size larger, especially on the boots, they've been those sizes for several months now and are nearing the end of them).

3. We could also use funds to help pay for their dance classes, though that gets pricey ($125 for the month for both of them). If you think this is the best bet the way to do this is to contact me privately about it. This is my wishful thinking request, because who has that kind of cash lying around? (Well, maybe if you're Ana and you routinely come across "any old money" for your piggy bank!)

4. More wishful thinking, I wanted to get all three of these magazines on a 5 year subscription on the grounds that then we'll have them until Evangeline outgrows them. This is not likely to happen, because, again, who has that sort of cash? I might as well ask for an elephant to be delivered to my doorstep. I mention it only for the sake of completeness.

Their school

I wanted to get some things for their classes for Christmas, distinct from the gift for the teachers. Used works for this as well.

1. For Ana's class, since the teacher said they play games some days for math, I wanted to get a few copies of Rat-a-tat-Cat, of Sleeping Queens, of Zeus on the Loose, and of Duck Duck Bruce, and maybe one or two of Frog Juice and/or Granny Apples for any kids who are a bit advanced in math. (And any other mathematical games that are fun for that age.) And maybe also a copy of Games for Math by Peggy Kaye. (Peggy Kaye's books rock.) And books are always appreciated :)

2. For Evangeline's class, I wanted to get some wordless picture books, maybe a copy of that Haba game "Grasshopper in the Land of Numbers" (which is pricier), and maybe a dressy doll or some doll clothes with various dressing options on them. They could also use peg puzzles, simple jigsaws, lacing cards, and a set of lacing letters like Ana's class got last year for her birthday. Used, again, is fine.

3. I had originally planned to give the teachers a few gift cards each.

ME!

1. I feel very greedy even asking for me, but I need a new handheld mixer, preferably one that comes with the possibility of getting a dough hook attachment. You can get some for cheap.

2. As always, you can always donate to charity and just feel better about it. This is the best bet, because then I don't feel greedy and we help people. So long as you don't donate to one I'm diametrically opposed to (use your best judgment, or go with something totally innocuous), that's fine. You don't even have to tell me if you don't like :)

So yes, that's my list. I feel very greedy now. But go and post your own wishlist, and if there's anything I can do, I'll try to do so.

I'm going to post my address in a LOCKED post in a minute. If anybody else needs my address for any reason, please contact me privately. When I say contact me privately, just email me. I'm conuly over at yahoo as well :) LJ PM's add an extra step to the email process, and every time I use them I regret it later.

You are not greedy at all. I can't promise anything, but if I manage to dig up some spare picture books, I will send them to you!
