Sure! Remember when they first meet Bumpo, the prince of a fictional black nation? He agrees to rescue the Doctor and crew from his father's dungeons if the Doctor can grant his greatest wish-- to be a white man. The Doctor fakes him out with some dye that turns his face and hair temporarily pale, and they end up as friends.

Yeah... I'd actually forgotten that part myself until I saw an edited version of the book. Granted, when the books were written, it made perfect sense that an intelligent black man would want to become white... for that matter, it's probably true today in some cases, too. Still, I can see why it's Not A Good Idea to have that scene in a children's novel.

So, they did some clever editing to that chapter. Now, Bumpo wants to become a lion, and the potion that the Doctor gave him to turn his hair light now gives him a lion's mane.

Like I said, I think it's an excellent edit. I'm worried, however, that next they might decide to rename Bumpo or edit him out altogether-- while he's always a very sympathetic character, he is not always portrayed in a very PC manner.
