It rose 25 feet in 45 minutes. Even if CheetoLini hadn't gutted NOA and all the early warning systems, this still would have taken us Texans unawares. The Guadalupe hasn't surged like this in 2 centuries, I think.

That's the impression I got from the article - that it rose faster than was predictable even with modern technology.

I hope other localities stsrt looking at places where multiple rivers feed into each other.

(Huh, this is actually true for Boston Harbor as well, but we don't have the absorption issue...)
