So, I was reading Sinfest...
Apr. 9th, 2004 04:34 amYou know, Sinfest? and suddenly, I realized something. I want one of the comic collection books. More than that, I want some... okay, several... of the strips in shirt format. Unfortunately, they don't sell that. Hmph. I could attempt to make these myself, but I'd likely mess it up. Is there any way to do this that does NOT involve messing it up and/or safety pins, and would it be ethically reprehensible/copyright infringement?
Now, Lore comics does have strips on shirts for sale, but none of them are the one I really really want. Same issues as above.
And all this rambling comes to a question, namely: which is your favorite comic, preferably something that can easily be found on the web? I get bored at 5am, and need something to rea... holy crap, I need to be up in four hours, djusk' a!

I love Sinfest too. Some friends of mine got me into it, so when I saw the feed in LJ, I figured I'd sign up too.
Other favorites? Foxtrot (memories too), Luann (same note as Get Fuzzy), and For Better or for Worse (family-oriented and cheesy, but clever).

Comet 7: Good quickies for those of us who are easily amused by anything pixeled. http://www.comet7.moreevolved.com/
Ctrl+Alt+Del: I've yet to go back and read the archives, but there's an Xbox roaming the streets in search of his humanity. How can it not be funny? http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/
Homestar Runner: Start at the begining and watch everything, twice. Now. http://www.homestarrunner.com/
Little Gamers: Cute little gamers with potty mouths. I can never remember what country these guys are from. http://www.little-gamers.com/
Mac Hall: All-around comic goodness with squirrels, moogles, and monkeys! http://www.machall.com/
Megatokyo: A manga about sad pretty girls, giant robots, g33ks and 1337 ninjas. I bought the first book and I'm still not sure I understand what's going on most of the time, yet I can't stop reading it. http://www.megatokyo.com/
Penny Arcade: You probably already know this one...

PvP: Geek central. Have you hugged your blue troll today? http://www.pvponline.com/
The Creatures in my head: The title is self explanatory. It's not really a comic per say, but it's comforting to know that the creatures in my head aren't nearly as weird. http://www.creaturesinmyhead.com/
Vg Cats: Still fairly new to me, but there's one about peas and a potato that you can't miss. http://www.vgcats.com/vgc_comics/?strip_id=103

Date: 2004-04-14 11:31 am (UTC)Well, my webcomic reading list is pretty extensive (you can see it on our Links (http://www.edgecomic.com/) page), but here's the cream of the crop:
The mad geniuses in my comic reading are:
Sluggy Freelance (http://www.sluggy.com) (Pete is the Shakespeare of webcomics -- sometimes long and dense, but also funny and accessible at every step. He makes this stuff look easy.)
Megatokyo (http://www.megatokyo.com/) (already mentioned) has absolutely gorgeous art, and has an ingenious plot that blends shoujo-style relationship-angst as well as l33t gamer madness.
KidRadd (http://www.kidradd.com/) is both an original pixel comic, and an animated comic. It starts out all simple and deceptive - aww, look, it's a comic about a cute video game, and then gets deeper, darker, and quite breathtaking.
Kagerou (http://www.electric-manga.com/) has incredible art and quite psychedelic colors, and one of the most original fantasy settings I've seen.
Edge of the World (http://www.edgecomic.com) (recently started) is about chicks, sorcery and Cleveland. (rumours that I might be biased, being the webmaster of it, and married to the artist, are insiduous propaganda, and not to be trusted).
Those are a good start, anyway, though of course there's always more to recommend. :)
