conulyEvangeline doesn't really *need* the silly game like Ana did. She's perfectly happy to memorize and regurgitate information. (And when she wakes up early from a nap she fetches a toy and goes back to bed. She doesn't sneak out and get into trouble! It's scary!)
But it's still fun. So I say I'll kiss her nose, she covers her nose, I kiss something else and loudly proclaim I succeeded - "NO! That's my FOREHEAD!"
(She doesn't need this variation either, she knows her body parts. But it's still fun.)
So we were playing the other day and I got her forehead, and then her cheek, and then her hand. Finally, she decided to let me win by moving her hand away. So I go in for the kill... I get her nose... "That's not my nose!" What is it, I ask in wonder? "MY 'NOT!"
Ew. I just kissed snot. What a delightful child she is!
Ana sang me a new song from school today. Bananas Unite! (I had to explain that unite doesn't mean "going to bed" but "coming together". Love how she worked that one out, though :)
And we've been working on (quite outside of what they're doing for school because school math is way easier than what she's been doing) counting by twos. It's hard! So first we just took turns saying numbers, with Ana taking the evens. Then I clapped when I said my numbers, but Ana just said hers. Now I clap and she (tries to) say the next in line. She's pretty good at it, but she often gets confused at either six or eight. Still, we only started doing this yesterday so lots of progress there :) (Oooh, I should write to her teacher and tell her.)
Today, searching for something to do, Ana and Evangeline made word posters. Well... Evangeline worked on her name (her one time writing of it appears to have been a fluke. We're working on it) and Ana wrote "purple", a word she's become infatuated with. So she wrote purple in triple letters (overlapping letters in different colors), then she wrote it on all sorts of fancy lines (tracing over my letters since this was harder) - mountains, curvies, and a heart. Stuck hers in her folder to show her teacher at Ana's request.
