Chain letters are evil, people.
Apr. 4th, 2004 12:26 amEVIL. Especially those which purport to have some fact, such as "this is a deadly computer virus reported on CNN", because the people who send off such silly things can use their heads and check CNN for themselves first to see if such a virus actually exists. Except they don't. Ever. And then the same spammy chain letter ends up in four communities you're in (as well as several you're not) and you end up explaining, carefully, that you need to CHECK YOUR FACTS before posting chain letters. Honestly, that one was over at snopes!
If you do insist on sending chain letters, hopefully through conventional methods such as email, please cut off all the >>>> marks and all the old email addresses at the top of the page. No joke, you can change a chain letter from being 20k to being 2k that way. Oh, and check www.breakthechain.org first... there's a very good chance they've disproven your chain letter already, and it's not as huge as snopes.
Now, please, send this message to everybody on your friends list/address book. Thank you.
