Two Eva-cdotes, and an Ana-cdote or so

In which Ana and Evangeline are total BFFs!
Me: Can I give you a hug?
Evangeline: No.
Me: No?!?
Evangeline: No. Only outside.
Me: But you hugged Ana inside.
Evangeline: Yeah... but Ana is my best friend ever. She calms me down when I don't like anything. And... and I calm her down too.
Me: ... I think I have to go type something. You stay there.
In which Evangeline is some sort of anti-procrastination superhero!
We were heading out the door to pick up Ana from school, and I realized halfway down that I had to call my mother to see if she'd left something in the house that I needed. (She hadn't.)
So I said "Wait, Evangeline!" as she went down the stairs.
Evangeline: I can't wait! *walkwalkwalk*
Me: Wait! Stop!
Evangeline: I'm sorry, I can't. *pauses anyway*
Me: Why not?
Evangeline: Because I need to. *resumes walking*
Me: Well, you need to wait.
Evangeline: I can't, though. My superpower says I can't wait. *walkwalkwalk*
Which, you know, is beyond silly, that little conniver, but I had to laugh. And once you start the giggles it's a little too late to enforce any sort of actual discipline...!
So, Ana used to call her sister Eva-banana. This makes a lot of sense to a four year old, because people often call her Ana-banana. Recently she's started to realize why it doesn't make perfect sense, so now she's trying out combinations like "Eva-baneva" and "Connie-banonnie". I suppose this makes perfect sense to her as a five year old :)
