So, we've got Niki, Jessica, and now Tracy.

So, Jessica has superstrength. Tracy can freeze people. Okay, that makes sense - I can see that different personalities have different powers. Mohinder is wrong, it's not just blood chemistry, it's something in the brain. Well, Sylar knows that, right? So we *know* it's right. ("Eat your brain? Claire. That's disgusting." Weirdest conversation ever.)

So... what's Niki's power, then? Multiple personalities is not a power, and I'm not convinced the mirror trick wasn't just in her mind... minds... whatever.

(And, better question, is Tracy part of the whole... uh... ikiN setup there? Time will tell.

I'm wondering if Tracy isn't Jessica. I mean the Jessica who was Nikki's twin and who is supposedly dead.

Really. I ... kinda appreciate that, in a way. This season seems to have abandoned plot and artistry for fanservice, but ... I ... I like it ...

That was my thought, actually. Nikki was in that building when it exploded last season; so how did she go from there to being a paid member of a governor's staff in a day or two?

Niki was able to tap into Jessica's super-strength, though, when she rescued Micah from Candace. My understanding was always that the multiple personalities and the super strength were separate issues.

BTW Didn't Niki/Jessica have a third? The one who ran off to ... LA, I think? And DL went and found her, and got shot? The Internet tells me her name was Gina.

I'm leaning towards that Niki/Jessica/Gina has one power, and Tracy is not Niki/Jessica/Gina. You don't get to be advisor to the governor overnight, and she was too sure of her "You can check me out." And this isn't Torchwood, you can't just invent a whole fictional life for a 35-year-old-woman.

[livejournal.com profile] mmaestro suspects that people-not-being-who-they-look-like is going to be a theme, and wonders if "Tracy" and "Peter/Jesse" could have similar causes.

ETA ... and I prefer not to speculate and would rather just let the story unfold. (I don't try to figure out who the killer is in mystery novels, either.)

When one is referring to a multiple system, it's generally considered polite to use the plural when referring to them as a whole, unless the group in question have indicated that they prefer otherwise. One of the reasons is because it's possible to have both men and women in a multiple system, regardless of body sex.

"Is Tracy part of the whole... uh... ikiN setup there?" By "ikiN setup" do you mean the lot of them, the group (also called a system or collective)?

Other than the pronouns as [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic pointed out, you're fine.

We haven't seen Heroes although some of our friends are following it.

If each person has their own power, then one might "borrow" another's via co-running -- two people using the body simultaneously. Are the writers of this show aware of such things?
