A similar annoyance I have is when people say "If this is against the rules, feel free to delete it." It's like, if you've made a good-faith effort to read the comm rules and follow them (including if you checked and no rules are posted), then you're more than likely okay, so don't be so timid. If it's not just timidity and you didn't bother to check the comm rules, then fucking check them yourself!

Well, I think that part is more about "don't feel bad about deleting it", but you're right.

Why would I feel bad? They're the ones who think they're too important to read the rules!

I feel really, really, really *good* about deleting those posts... and banning any sucker who tries that little disclaimer more than once.
