Like a sigh. A very *loud* sigh.
I stopped typing - and there it was again! A sighing!
I have to say that my first thought was "Geez, Ana!", but it's the middle of the night! So my second - and, as I convinced myself, marginally saner thought was that this was exactly like the plots of all those horror movies.
"Hello?"
Silence.
"HELLO????"
Now I begin to hear faint rustlings and creakings, as of somebody moving fidgetedly outside my door.
"ANA? JENN? ANYBODY?"
No response.
I look for my phone. There is no phone. I think about staying in bed, about climbing out my window, about being sensible and going out the door to see what it is.
I finally, holding my breath, take that last option.
Slowly, carefully, and above all quietly I leave my bed. I inch, quietly, for the door.
"Hi Connie!"
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There, right behind my bed is... is... is....
Ana.
Apparently she'd woken up and found that Mommy and Daddy weren't upstairs, so she came down togive me a heart attack make trouble find them
Actually, I'm not sure what she intended to do other than sit more or less quietly in my room until morning. I took her down to her dad and told him to take my little visitor back up to her nice warm hammock.
