It's the weirdest thing, and I was talking about it to my sister, too.

Every time it's summer, my internal clock dings and I go "Time to bake!"

Not metaphorically, I'm afraid. May, June hits and I start craving fresh bread (made molasses bread twice in the past two weeks, and used up all the molasses that's barely been touched in years), and cookies, and cakes.

Wintertime, I don't bake at all, even if we're in the house. But summer? Time to bake!

Now, Jenn thinks it's because we had all this free time being home from school in summer - but I don't know. It's not like I did my homework during the year, so, theoretically, shouldn't I have had free time all year long as a kid? I don't know.

And we have a convection oven now, so that's all right - though really, being able to bake without heating up the whole house is only going to fuel the madness, isn't it? I don't know.

All I know is that it's now, officially, time to bake.
