Gigglesnorts: most people who have seen this word seem to use it. That is still not very many people, but I will call this early, unintentional experiment an success.

FLAM: Not really my word, but again, it seems to be spreading around NC and beyond. Updates later.

Mihi: Only Phy and one or two latin geeks use it :(

New additions:

Iste: This disreputable, from latin.
Ipse: An intensifier. I ipse think that's bullshit. I myself think that's bullshit.

And a question. If I added a random dialectal word (meaning an uncommon word not in my dialect) to my internet language every week, how long until I got attacked by wild beasts? Would one a month be better?

I should start using 'gigglesnort' more often. It describes my laugh quite a bit better than 'chortle'...

/me knew of the origin of 'chortle', but 'gigglesnort' has a decidedly...different...tone. And besides, my laugh is a bit more of a giggle than a chuckle. :)

I gigglesnort, but I don't like FLAM (I also don't like the term 'n00b' and it irritates me to hell that gamers have taken the acronym for my company and mutated it into a sound effect for masturbation).

that's great!!!
changing the english language with intent.......fun!!!
I will definitely be using gigglesnort from now on.
What does mihi mean?
And could ipse be taken also in the context of "I really think that's bullshit"? Or is it specifically reflexive?
And add words as you like and i will contribute to your campaign as I can. :D

It'd be fun to see what you added. Just as long as I'm still able to understand you, I won't set the hoard of wild beasties that I keep in my closet on you, so don't worry.

I might be happier if you just introduced new, unknown vocabulary or told us forgotten meanings of older words. Like you telling me about 'figment,' that was so cool. I am not much for adding random words to my vocabulary unless I can feel comfortable using them in my head. I don't think I gigglesnort in reality, FLAM has always sounded silly to me, and mihi, while quite fun to type, doesn't smooth as nicely as the english alternative simply because not many people at all know what it means. That's why I haven't picked any of them up yet.
