They're talking about it too, but they haven't picked up on the stupid girl yet. *rolls eyes* However, I did find this link. Since I'm reluctant to trust anything from THAT 'news' agency, I also found this link.
What irks me is that they make the implied claim that veganism = completely insane = babykilling.
Fact is, trying to feed your infant nuts and fruit (when nuts are highly allergenic and shouldn't be introduced until much later...) instead of breastmilk/formula isn't vegan. It's just stupid. No, it's not even strict vegan. It's stupid.
The article at CNN is less... um... inaccurate, highlighting this woman's stupidity.
She said that at four months, after Ice became "mucousy" on commercial soy formula, she began making the homemade formula, a mixture of coconut milk, pecans, hazelnuts, ground soybeans and 16 herbs, including Echinacea, slippery elm and dandelion.
Half that stuff can kill your average infant, like the nuts. And none of it is good for a four month old. Also, maybe I've been corrupted by Jenn, but I gotta wonder why somebody who made a big deal about not trusting modern medicine trusts modern formulas....
Anyway, again, despite what is implied by iste news site, this has nothing to do with the mom being vegan, or even distrusting modern medicine. This has to do with her being stupid.
