Interesting.....
Mar. 30th, 2008 03:04 pmOne last post before I go eat (on all my delicious food! Yar!)....
The other day, Evangeline told me that she wanted a 'nak. I was a bit preoccupied, so instead of hearing "snack", I heard "nap". This struck me as very strange, so I asked her about it - "You want a nap?"
"NO CONNIE! I wan a ssssnack!"
Very interesting. She clearly can say the word right if she tries and figures the effort is worth it. Not that I'd ever use this technique on purpose - I do understand her, and, indeed, find her to be a very clear speaker for her age. Forcing her to repeat herself for no reason would be, at best, kinda mean.
Ana, yesterday, told me (in tears, I'm sorry to say) that she HAD had a good lunch earlier that day, but "we're just cranky because we didn't have a NAP". Given how quickly they fell asleep at their very early bedtime (I babysat last night), she's probably right.
