Stupid people need to die

Now, I do NOT think that Israel is deliberately making things worse. Not because I think that everyone is nice and full of sunshine and roses, but because, while I lack faith in human goodness, I maintain faith in human stupidity. Manipulations on this level would mean that officials there are far smarter than I can reasonably give them credit for being.
However, attributing the idiocy of escalating the situation to stupidity works well. They do the same things they've always done because they've always done it, even though it doesn't work. The terrorist groups do the same. Not because it's a vast conspiracy, but because humans are inherantly dumb.
Like the poster I'm pissed at. Saying "this government is making so many mistakes that I think it might be intentional" is not at all the same as saying "all Jews are evil". It's just NOT. And then denying that you made that claim when your words are RIGHT IN PLAIN SIGHT is really stupid. Calling somebody an anti-semitic nazi for not supporting Israel means that you equate anti-Israeli sentiment with anti-semitism, which, again, is stupid. I won't even bother to explain why, it just is.
Edit, that's not even what he said. He said something more like "it's almost as though they're trying to make things worse" which, while that could be construed as an accusation, it could just as easily mean "they're making things worse and you'd think they'd know it by now".

Date: 2004-03-22 12:57 am (UTC)Right now I do think Israel is deliberately making things work. Sharon made statements about how assassination attempts to quell the Palistinian Violence is not completely out of the question, and has even alluded to offing Yassin.
However, I think Palistinian's will also continue to make it worse as well.

Date: 2004-03-22 07:46 am (UTC)Oh, certainly, if by Palestinians you mean terrorist extremists. Quite a few Palestinians protest non-violently, they just don't get media exposure. Wonder why.
Like I've said. Doing the same stupid thing that doesn't work simply because it's the same stupid thing you've always done is... well... stupid. And stupidity is not stopped by artificial barriers such as nationality.
