Period started yesterday

Thought it'd start earlier, was all prepared, decided after a day that I was wrong, stopped wearing pad just in case, and it started that night. D'oh!

Pads used so far: Flames, flames, bacon and eggs, super computers, butterflies, supergirl, hot peppers, ROBO DINOSAUR!!!!!

Well, I keep trying to justify buying more pads, so I'm afraid I can't answer that quite honestly....

<sub>Like, there's this one and this-y and that-y, and let's not even get into custom ones that have this or that fabric option in the store but haven't been made yet.

The more honest answer is probably "enough, especially as right now they're working as backup to sponges, so I don't need to change them as often as I otherwise would (though I can, which is not an option with disposables, I don't have that much... well... disposable income). They fill a medium-ish lingerie bag.</sub>

Heh. Cloth diapering has the same problem: they're so durn cute, you keep wanting to buy more.

I still would like to know how many constitues "enough" in your view. I have four. I'm sure I need more, but how many?

I don't want to have to wash laundry mid-week if I don't have to.

It seems that on a heavy day, I go through two or three pads, but that's because I have a nifty sponge thingy. Without it, I'd go through more, and I like to be prepared for that.

I have three heavy days, and two more light days each month - that's one pad per day for the light days, though I prefer to change them now that it doesn't cost me money to do that.

So... ten pads, four light pads/liners?

Well, considering I wash diapers every 2-3 days, that's my laundry parameter.

Actually, I have some old "waterproof" baby cloth pads. I could just make my own pads. I think I even have a doohicky for the snaps....

But of course, you're at a different part of your life than I am. I can appreciate not wanting to buy lots of pads when your period might kick out any year now.

Though I do keep trying to explain to my mom that they'll do better (cheaper, more comfortable, just *better*) job of catching her new... uh... form of occasional leakage. She's not buying it :(
