The fact that neither of us has ever met the guy is, apparently, totally irrelevant.

I'm surprised anybody is surprised that Alex Trebek was able to click his tongue. I mean, anybody can do that, right? I can, since I was a kid. I doubt I correctly produce the exact same clicks* used in this or that language, and wouldn't know it if I did, but I can certainly... make clicks with my tongue.

*Actually, looking back, as a kid, I may have stimmed that way. I certainly revert to making little rhythmic melodies when bored and alone now. Not around other people, though, if I can help it.

I can, I do, I just started doing it, and now Finbar is doing it (probably not realizing why).

My face is rather twitchy. Always was. It's just one way it gets twitchy.

Some people honestly seem unable to make any sounds outside their native phonetic inventory - I very much doubt my father could click his tongue, for instance. But I'm not at all surprised that Alex Trebek can do it, being trilingual - and I wonder if the ability to roll the tongue plays into it at all...

Trebek is from my town (which is 35% francophone). I would be surprised if he isn't at least bilingual (French/English) since his mother was Franco-Ontarien.
