Ack! Help!

See, I was commenting on my entry on presents, and I realized - I know what to get Jackie for her birthday!!!!

Jackie is one of Ana's friends. She's a lefty. I already was planning to get her a pair of lefty scissors (two pairs - one to have and one to lose! But now I realize she's going to school in the fall, so maybe I'll get her three - home, school, lose), and I just now realized the perfect thing for her is also a bunch of magazines or interesting pages from magazines to cut up!

Clearly, I have to ask on freecycle, I know. But I thought I'd also ask youse guys, just in case anybody didn't mind going through the hassle of shipping, because... I don't know. I'd pay for the shipping.

Also, I was wondering if anybody had any other ideas for things to cut up that I could pass to this kid for her birthday.

(And yes, my current cheer doesn't negate my pissed-offedness about that earlier article.)

Fun fact: I'm a lefty, but have never been able to use left handed scissors.

Same here. Im a lefty in everything else I do except scissors, which I can only do right handed.

It varies. I have fine motor skills in both hands, but it depends on the task. Crochet right, knit right, mouse click right, sew left, eat left, write left, type mostly left. I was very ambidextrous as a small child and used to switch hands if I was tired of writing with the other.

Ah. I'm not ambidextrous at all. I can type with both hands, and when using a regular mouse (not a trackpad) I tend to use my right hand (so my left can type singly), but other than that... honestly, sometimes I nearly forget my right hand exists at all.

Lefty scissors are, for me, one of the bestest things ever, and I just wish I'd had them sooner. (And it's not like the kid is never going to be exposed to righty scissors in her life :P)

When I was young someone told my mom to get me leftie scissors because lefties had to have leftie everything. So she did, and I looked at her crazy and got the right handed ones. I bet if I practiced, I could use both. Most tasks I do have a touch of ambi in them.
